Here we see the real folly of Adam and Eve, who ate the fruit because they wanted to be gods themselves. Folly, because that is what God wanted too, except that He wanted man to be like gods on His terms and by His doing, rather than we foolishly thinking that we could become gods by our own doing, without Him.
