Dan Deeny

Father Schall needs to expand this excellent short essay. Otherwise, his ideas risk getting lost in the flood of words from the Internet.

This is an important essay, exploring as it does the moral relationships of justice and charity, of giving and receiving, of rights and taking. I'll be providing this to my business ethics students, and I second Dan Deeny's suggestion that the essay ought to be expanded. But the appearance of the Roman numeral "I" at the beginning makes me wonder if it is only part of a more expansive article or chapter already existing. If it is, I ask the author or the blog master to let us have a reference by which we can look up the whole thing.

Yes, charity does become politicized and soon politicians will try to use the word charity to define their efforts to provide for citizens.
