Which seems to mean:

So maybe Cardinal Schoenborn's comments were an attack on Cardinal Sodano, and maybe they weren't an attack but a criticism.

But note, please:

While The Tablet isn't addressing the other major points of Father Fessio's essay, such as The Tablet's claim that Cardinal Schoenborn said that stable gay relationships "deserve respect" and that the Church should reconsider her teaching about divorce and remarriage, The Tablet will talk about one of its articles Father Fessio didn't criticize or even mention, just because he said that Cardinal Schoenborn's efforts in a particular other respect deserve public attention and that other Tablet article happened to give credit to Cardinal Schoenborn on the clergy sexual abuse issue.

Meanwhile, we still hear no clarifications from Cardinal Schoenborn regarding his alleged comments. I am much more interested in what he really said and what he really believes than in a disagreement between Catholic and secular press over good journalistic form.

Me, too. Although "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" is an easy mindset for bishops misused by media to fall into. We'll see what happens.
