A note from novelist and painter, Michael O'Brien:
Dear Friends,Michael's new novel, Theophilos, is now available from Ignatius Press; the cover art is by Michael, as is the case with most of his books. Check out his Ignatius Insight author page for more about his books.
For those of you who live in or near Ottawa, or in the southern Ontario region, I will be giving a public talk and exhibition of my paintings at St. Patrick's basilica during the afternoon of Sunday, May 2nd.
The basilica is situated at 281 Nepean Street in Ottawa's downtown core, just a few minutes drivenorth of the Queensway.
The afternoon begins with a forty-minute concert of sacred music in the church, beginning at 2 p.m., followed by my art exhibit and talk in the parish hall beneath the basilica. The Schola Choir of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy has become superb under the direction of Maestro Uwe Lieflander. Please come for this free recital, and afterwards join us downstairs to learn more about our unique post-secondary program. Meet professors and students of OLSWA and enjoy the refreshments that will be generously provided by the Knights of Columbus. As Artist and Writer in residence at the Academy, I will be on hand to answer any of your questions. I will also be signing copies of one of my new books.
This celebration of Catholic higher education and the arts is an excellent way to begin Catholic Education Week (May 2 to 7th).
For more details, call 1-877- 369-6520 (extension 204) or visit the Academy's website: www.seatofwisdom.org
God bless you all,
Michael O'Brien
