I agree we don't need a press which is selectively outraged and self censors but as well we don't need a press which runs with rumour, opinion, guesses and the misquoting of facts. Journalists should varify their sources before publishing.

A case in point is the presentation made by Major Nadal as part of his psychiatry residency. I don't think that any journalist who spoke about it has actually read what is in it. The Washington Post has the presentation online. Slides 28-31 deal with rewards and slides 32-34 deal with punishments meted out by angels after death on unbelievers - since I haven't read the Koran I can't be sure if the unbelievers are fallen away muslims or non muslims.
