... in my home state, Montana. I don't know too much about it, actually, having just been told of the amendment today by my father, who mentioned it in passing. The PersonhoodMontana.com website has the following information:
"Senator Dan McGee, writing the language of SB 406 himself, has shown what it truly means to be pro-life," stated Keith Mason, of Personhood USA. "Senator McGee's successful efforts on behalf of all human beings at all stages of human life are a giant step forward in historic efforts to ensure the rights and protection of every individual."
SB 406, which defines person for the purposes of application of inalienable rights, states, "All persons are born free and have certain inalienable rights...person means a human being at all stages of human development of life, including the state of fertilization or conception, regardless of age, health, level of functioning, or condition of dependency."
The PersonhoodUSA.com site indicates that seven states are pursuing such amendments. PewSitter.com reports that the number is actually fifteen.
Judie Brown of American Life League has further info and commentary.
Needless to say, some pro-abortion groups are in full meltdown-and-mockery mode.
Interesting.
According to the 'Socialist Worker,' the American youth (i.e. the survivors) are vastly opposed to abortion ("anti-choice"), at the least on a moral level. It is the adults who fought for unfettered abortion "rights" who are on the ball and back Roe. So, in ten years... who is going to be "out of step" with the general populace? If the current trends maintain themselves- and as the killing of the Millennial generation continues- I'd not place many bets on Pres. Obama's radical abortion views.
Simply put: those with abortion "rights" views are probably more likely to abort their own future society. Those who struggle to raise the next generation are the ones who will influence that same society.
Talk about hysterics from that left-winger. They trotted out every single straw-man argument in one page. Criminy.
