That admission from a fairly well-known member of the Obama administration. She added, for good measure, this bit of historical insight:
It is hard enough with two parties to come to any resolution, and I
say this very respectfully, because I feel the same way about our own
democracy, which has been around a lot longer than European democracy.
Uh, really? No, of course not. But she was only off by, oh, about 2200 years. Oh well—I bet she knows how to spell "potato."
I think she might have meant "...than [any] European democracy."
