Palin and the New Feminism | Catholic World Report | November 2008
Serrin Foster on the issues raised by her group’s most famous member. Interview by Father Matthew Gamber.
Mentions of Feminists for Life (FFL) appeared often
in the news after Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was announced as John
McCain’s running mate. Palin is one of the pro-life organization’s
members.
Serrin Foster has led Feminists for Life of America since 1994. As the creator of the Women Deserve Better ® campaign, she has focused on developing resources and practical support for under-served pregnant and parenting students. She spoke to CWR recently about FFL and some of the issues Palin’s candidacy raised.
My daughter donned a black wig, glasses, and a hockey jersey, and went trick-or-treating as Sarah Palin. Don't tell me SP is not headed toward cultural icon status.

It's no wonder the abortion people hate her.

Personally, I prefer to call this AUTHENTIC feminism. ;-)

I have mixed feelings about Palin as a candidate, but as a cultural icon I think she is doing a lot of good.

I'm not convinced that Sara Palin is the sharpest tool in the shed but she's got gut, conviction and faith. I'll take her over the spineless, wishy-washy, I'm against it but I can't do anything about it canidates any day. I'd be very proud if my daughters turned out to be more like her and a lot less like the supposed "real feminists" like Nancy Pelosi.

Feminism is fundamentally wrong whether it be 'radical feminism' or 'neo-feminism.' I don't care if the feminist is pro-life or not, a mother of a new born should not be Governor, nonetheless VP or President. It goes against the natural order.
According to this article Palin said, “no woman should have to choose between her career, education, and her child.”
She's right, the child must come first. End of discussion.

Here, here, Stohn. Back to the kitchen with her!
Come to think of it, giving women the vote might have been one of the errors of modernism that Pius IX warned against. Clearly, those suffragettes were fundamentally wrong.
