"I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all."-Barack Obama

How about Natural Law? Why don't you have to make those same kind of from the ground up explanations for laws against robbery, assault and murder? Isn't that Natural Law the common ground for legislating against those moral violations? What does your reason tell you?

We know that life begins at conception because you have told us that fatherhood begins at conception. In fact, you told us emphatically in that famous father's day message in your new church that fatherhood doesn't end at conception. Quite right. So can a man be a father to anything like, say, a lump of tissue? Of course not. He is the father of a human child, as you have pointed out, from conception.

So then you advocate the killing of a human child? And this, Mr. Obama, is reason?

Dan Deeny

Who really knows why Sen. Obama talks and acts the way he does? His vote in the Illinois legislature against helping babies who survive abortions suggests he's lost his mind. All normal people think you should help and comfort babies. Pelosi, Ridge, Cuomo, Schwarzenegger, Sebelius, and the Catholics who support the abortion business are another matter. The rules for Catholics are clear. Or aren't they?

J.B. Mulder

"His vote in the Illinois legislature against helping babies who survive abortions suggests he's lost his mind."

Absolutely true. What worries me is this: Does anyone care? Will he be called out on this in the fall, or any of his other ridiculous, contradictory statements? Can he be exposed for what he is? This man could be the next president of the United States! What are we supposed to do?

Telemachus

The rules are VERY clear, but sadly, too many Catholics ignore them, for which they should be ashamed. Not only are they making themselves look silly, but they are making the Church look bad.

"We know that life begins at conception because you have told us that fatherhood begins at conception. In fact, you told us emphatically in that famous father's day message in your new church that fatherhood doesn't end at conception."

Oh my, did he really say that? Yes! More grenades to lob at pro-choice Obamaniacs! Ooop, yep, here it is:

"But we also need families to raise our children. We need fathers to realize that responsibility does not end at conception. We need them to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child – it’s the courage to raise one."
