It is evident that the Msgr is a product of the deeply orthodox side of Germany. I think this is one of the manifestations of the "Springtime of the Church" which JP2 spoke about. One cannot help but be enriched to hear about young priests (the Msgr) and not-so-young priests (Benedict XVI) emerging from a historically Catholic nation and rising from the ranks to be "light" for their country and of the world. Jesus said “When two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in midst of them.” (Mt. 18:20). Germany is undoubtedly safer now with Benedict XVI and Msgr. Schmitz, gathered in Jesus' name.
