Comments

Jerry N. Wesner

I see the two questions, "What is the meaning of life?" and "Why are we here?" as totally different. To the first, I'd say as adults we give our lives whatever meaning we want, within the constraints that exist in our particular lives. But the second presupposes a specific viewpoint: that we were created by a sentient being and placed in a specific time and place for some specific purpose. Since I, as a secular humanist, reject that viewpoint, I could not attempt to answer the question.
