I very much like today's spiritual reflection. Thank you, Carl E. Olson!

The powerful but lovely and playful (?!) element of the ways of the Holy Sprit reminds me GM Hopkins' poem "The Blessed Virgin Compared to the Air we Breathe". Since Mary is the mediatrix of graces, a channel of grace, a dwelling of Holy Spirit, she is like live, wild, free and fresh air, the attributes of the Holy Spirit.

I like the whole thing, but the last few lines are such a wonderful plea, prayer almost:

"Stir in my ears, speak there
Of God’s love, O live air,
Of patience, penance, prayer:
World-mothering air, air wild,
Wound with thee, in thee isled,
Fold home, fast fold thy child".
