I'm still waiting to see a world-class Bible teacher from the Catholic Church.
I think maybe Ralph Martin qualifies. Fulton Sheen certainly did. But I mean, are they going to serve the Word up to the saints, or not?

Bruce: No need to wait; you just need to catch up. Off the top of my head, I can think of several exceptional, even "world class", Bible teachers alive and teaching today in he U.S. alone, some in academic settings, others in popular settings: Dr. Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, SJ, Dr. Edward Sri, Dr. Tim Grey, Dr. Michael Barber, Dr. Brant Pitre, Dr. Matthew Levering, Stephen Ray, Dr. Mary Healy, Curtis Mitch, Fr. Robert Barron, Monsignor Charles Pope, Dr. John Bergsma, Dr. R. R. Reno, Dr. Marcellino D'Ambrosio, Fr. William Kurz, S.J., and so forth. And the list is much longer.
