Ten years ago Karen Shablin was a "card-carrying member of NARAL"; she is now a pro-life speaker for Feminists for
Life. A health policy expert and former state Medicaid agency head, Ms. Shablin is speaking for FFL on campus because, she says, "I can’t undo my mistakes over the years—having an abortion, advocating abortion, but I can help others to learn from my mistakes. Every life counts."
She will be one of the speakers at the 2009 Walk for Life West Coast, which will be held this coming Saturday, January 24th, in San Francisco (go to the WFL website for further information).
Ms. Shablin and Dolores Meehan, co-chair of the Walk for Life West Coast, were interview last Friday by Jerry Usher on "Catholic Answers Live." You can listen to that interview, "Does Abortion Hurt Women?", on the Catholic Answers website.
And here is a recent talk by Ms. Shablin, in which she talks about her time as a NARAL member, why she had an abortion, and why she changed her mind about abortion:

This might be the group that ends the abortion business. Now, if the Black Caucus will just join them.
