This is starting to get old fast:
You sense you are in the presence of greatness the moment he enters a room. Adults and children are in awe.
Yeah, yeah, we've heard it before.
Teammates love him, opponents respect him. There will never be another one like him.
Huh? Teammates...what? Who?
Vince Young did things on a football field that made grown men cry. He brought happiness to millions, made their boring lives worth living. He wore orange, but Tech fans, Aggie fans, UH fans, all fans rooted for him as if he was their own. Such was his greatness.
He made an entire state--and probably an entire nation--feel good about itself. All Vince Young has been to Texans is everything.
Who knew Texas had so little before Vince Young? Who knew that some sportswriters have such myopic perspectives and sad lives? This makes ordinary hyperbole sound like everyday adjectives. Whew.

Great college QB, so far average pro QB. The fact that he beat SC and brought a championship to UT makes him a legend in Texas, the jury is still out in Tennesee.
The sports MSM hypes everything, sports talk shows are more on more taking on a Springer-like persona hyping the mundane. Sports used to be magical, for the most part now it is just utility, all business and less a game.

This is the University of Texas? The same place where massacres on campus were started? I never heard of Young, but I have heard of marksmanship practice there.
Indeed as Mr. Justice writes:
"The University of Texas is a special place...It's a place of ideas, a place of thought, a place where people learn to be the best they can be....Texas isn't like other places....Texas isn't like other schools. Greatness is routine at Texas."
Yep, "Hook 'em Horns!"

Carl, this I'd just a local columnist who likes to write things like this on his blog to generate traffic. Although this was pretty over-the-top for even him... Can you tell he went to UT?

I'm thinking now that he's being, uh, sarcastic. Or at least having some fun. Even if that's the case, this sort of hyperbole isn't too far off of what some sportswriters do sound like. Perhaps that's the point...
