Thanks for the tip! There are some great books listed there, at very nice prices. Even though I already have at least five or six books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read, I'll most likely be placing an order for several of these books soon.

One question though: Does this sale mean that some of these books are going out of print?

Kevin

I have the same question as Paul. If that is the case, I'll be much more inclined to buy some of these books.

$5 for some of Chesterton's collected works is an absolute steal.

Deacon Harold

I've already taken advantage of this great deal! I encourage everyone on earth to do the same.

Thomas

15 books (and the freebie).

Total for the 16 with regular price: $287

Blowout sale total: $71

Please do this more often!!

Well, we like to do sales when we can--we can't always afford to do them. And we do need to free up some warehouse space.

There's a conflict between doing larger print runs to keep the per book cost of printing low (and thus making it possible for us to keep our retail costs low) and filling up warehouse space with larger numbers of books. Yes, the books will eventually sell but the larger quantity print runs mean that we will sell down the quantity of a title over a longer period of time. Somehow we have to strike a balance. When the warehouse gets full, we wind up having a sale.

Please spread the word about the sale to your friends. Thanks.

Drew

These are all great deals, I will definitely tell my friends about these deals.

Mark, thanks for the explanation of the sale. And especially thanks for having the sale! :-)

I have a question for Mark or Carl or anyone who might be able to help: There are six volumes of The Collected Works of G.K. Chesterton that are part of the sale (volumes 29-34). According to the descriptions, each of these volumes is a collection of Chesterton's columns from the Illustrated London News. I am strongly considering ordering one of these volumes, since I like Chesterton's writing, and since the prices are so low. But I don't really have a good way of choosing one volume out of the six that are available. Can anyone recommend one of these six volumes that is particularly good, that maybe stands out a bit from the others, or maybe that contains an especially classic column? If not, I guess that maybe I will just pick one at random. :-)

Harrison Ayre

This is the greatest day of my life...just ordered 28 books.

Deacon Harold

Earlier today, I realized that the "Blowout Sale" books listed in the IP printed brochure differs from the selections on-line. So I did the only thing a reasonable person in my position would do: I ordered 14 more books!
