The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes without telling his in-laws when or where....Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings want to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.
I cannot begin to express how ill this makes me. Can any parent even begin to fathom the sort of blinding pain the Schindlers must feel? They weren't allowed to care for their daughter even while her "husband" sought to kill her. They couldn't stop her from being starved to death. They cannot keep her from being cremated by the "husband" who is now free to marry his longtime girlfriend. They will not be told where her remains will be placed.
When the bond between parents and a child is severed, destroyed, violated, and desecrated in the public square by lawyers and judges and adulterers, barbarism has not only subverted civilization, it mockingly claims that it is civilized, compassionate, sophisticated, and openminded. Repeat the lie enough and people will start believing it. Continue repeating it and people will start to live it. Repeat it even more and people will meekly let it kill them.
