Early on when I started my blog (which happens to be http://www.interx.net/~mbrumley/blogger.htm and also happens to be relatively unattended to because I have a family and a job), one point I made was that I would at least try to think about what I was going to say before publishing it. Blogs have this terrible tendency to allow people to publish before the world whatever happens to pop into their heads. People also tend to conduct themselves in blog exchanges as if they were engaged in a private discussion or in semi-private venting, instead of what they're really doing--conversing or arguing in front of everybody. Then, too, you can waste--yes, I said waste--a lot of time online, especially at blogs (not at this one, of course) and at blogging.
For these and other reasons, I have reservations when it comes to blogs and to recommending them. That reservation doesn't, however, extend to Jimmy Akin's fine blog, which is at http://www.jimmyakin.org/. Jimmy is one of America's premier Catholic apologists. So after you check out Ignatius.com, IgnatiusInsight.com, and this blog several times a day, please be sure to see what Jimmy's up to at jimmyakin.org.

I couldn't agree more. Jimmy is the best and his blog is worth visiting.

if you're saying that people need to think before they blog, then this may be my last posting. Thinking was never my strong suit.

I was just over there and noticed that Jim was blushing - now I know why! ;o)
